Dr. Macy's research focuses on two areas: 1) The development and evaluation of emergency department-based interventions to increase appropriate child passenger restraint use among children less than 13 years old, 2) Exploring the role of pediatric observation medicine to improve efficiency and optimize emergency department and hospital resource utilization in the acute care of children with common conditions such as asthma and dehydration. Dr. Macy conducts her research at the University of Michigan Child Health Evaluation and Research (CHEAR) Unit.
